We are courting an incredible backlash from our captives and their survivors. When it comes, I hope it's with orderly proceedings, rules of evidence and procedure, and that the guilty are targeted by scrupulous investigators. I fear, however, that it will be chaotic, unfocused, and highly retributive, and we can all stare real hard, grit our teeth, and growl, "You can't knock America out with one punch. Now, listen to our engines!" And we can start this whole jolly dumbshow again, assuring ourselves that "they" hate us for our freedom.
