Syria crisis: UN peacekeepers seized on Golan Heights

Four peacekeepers serving on the Syrian Golan Heights have been abducted, the UN says.

Reuters news agency said Syrian rebel group the Martyrs of Yarmouk issued a statement saying it was holding them.

The statement said the group was being held for its own safety because of clashes in the separation zone between Syria and the Israeli-occupied heights.

In March the same group detained 20 UN observers in the same area, before releasing them three days later.
