I guess Tim Tebow was the first major league professional athlete in one of the Big 5 sports to ever publicly admit that they were a Christian. I can imagine what it must have been like decades ago for the countless number of secret and closeted professional athlete Christians - having to keep their faith behind closed doors knowing that if they were outed that their careers could be over and they would likely have been disowned by even their family and friends. Until the 60's they would have been labeled criminals until the 70's they would have been labeled mentally ill. And only recently have a few states for the first time ever granted Christians the right to get married like ever one else. Yes, it took a lot of courage for Mr. Tebow to break down that wall and become the first ever openly Christian major league athlete in one of the Big 5 sports.
