But, in answer to your question, it's because a) DU is filled with attention whores; b) some DUers will chase the latest shiny object; and c) the emotional health of some folks can be called into question.

The rational people here are neither shouting down the scandals (with fingers in ears and hands over eyes) nor are they running around with their hair on fire calling for Holder's immediate resignation/dismissal.
