We are witnessing a modern day political lynching party

The rethugs cannot stand that there is a black man in the White House, and will stop at nothing to get him out. Their corporate lackey failed in November, so all they have left is impeachment or resignation. So here comes the scandal parade, one after another. Benghazi, IRS, AP, etc. If they need to make shit up, so be it. All par for the course. Just watch, next week they'll come up with yet another manufactured scandal, then another. They'll continue their grandstanding hearings, parading one official after another, in the hopes that someone will say something that doesn't quite match what someone else said months ago. They'll produce more fake emails and documents.

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually accuse Obama of murder.

I bet alot of it is because he's black. And because alot of people really think he's a Muslim, which really shouldn't even matter. But alot of them really believe it. So it's because he's a black, muslim, democrat and his last name, "Obama."

Because it's all four of those things, right-wingers can't cope. LOL. They are going bananas with Obama in office. In their white-washed mind this can't be happening. It's a threat to their white manhood.

Of course there is the other side of me which says they are doing this because he's a Democrat. They are pulling the same stuff on Obama that they did with Clinton, a white guy.

Because Nixon was impeached, but resigned, the Republicans want to really have a really good chance at successfully impeaching a Democratic President. Like you said they are going to keep up the same BS. Obama is no "Tricky Dick Nixon." So it will never happen, but they will keep trying and it will keep stressing me out.

when four of the last five rep admins committed federal and international crimes

the party is using race in this new lynching because the opportunity is there

the party will attack a weakness and it will attack a strength
race is both a weakness and strength this time

when the base says muslim, they mean black
when they say communist, they mean foreign
when they say corrupt a priori, they mean black

the party strategy is not exactly the same sincere bigotry
by any means necessary, they told ken starr when whitewater yielded nothing

him - literally - with a rope. There were the nuts who planned to kill him and blacks and were arrested in 2008. Them and their damn 'race war' they've been dreaming of since WW2 to install to fascism.

No one calls them on it. This is as old as the John Birch Society and their hate for Supreme Court justices for Brown vs. the Board of Education and then JFK. They haven't even changed themes.

These 'patriot' groups sniffling around with their conspiracy theories all listen to the same soundtrack with different brands.

It actually reminds me of the Clinton era, although Clinton's impeachment was far more personal. At least we are not hearing Obama's penis discussed every night on the news.

Obama has his racist opposition, but these scandals seem to be more directed at damaging the administration's power and stopping Democratic legislation from going through. The Benghazi obsession actually seems far more directed toward Hillary and 2016 than at Obama at all.

With Bill, they had his history of sexual dalliances to use against him. Got the 'good Christian family values' crowd riled up good.

With Hillary, they had the 'too outspoken for a woman' angle to use against her. Got the "a decent American woman knows her place" crowd up-in-arms.

With Obama - they don't need to find anything in particular 'wrong' with him to get the racists foaming at the mouth. Hey, he's a black man in the WH - no need for anything further to be said.

But I've no doubt that a good part of the vitriol they feel towards him is based on their frustration more than anything else: (a) they've gone over his entire life with a microscope, and can't find a 'real' scandal to exploit, and (b) he's an uppity black man who outwits-outplays-outlasts them every time.

And for a certain segment of the Republican base, component (b) is what sticks in their craw more than anything else.

They missed with the keeping him to one term and the bitter taste of revenge is putrid in their collective mouth.

Maybe it's people instantly shooting down Republican lies en masse on Facebook and other social media sites, or something ... They don't seem to have the same power they had in the Clinton-Got-A-BJ days.

The umbrella umbrage is a good example. That would have had traction for days had this been 10 or 15 years ago. Now, though, it takes no time for photos of Republican presidents standing under umbrellas held by others to surface and spread like wildfire. Republican hypocrisy is put on display for all to see.

Obama and his admin are like any before, they are sworn to uphold the Constitution and govern on behalf of the people. They have clearly failed in several areas, although the extent of those failures are yet to be known.

It isn't racist to call the Obama admin on the IRS bullshit.

It isn't racist to call the Obama admin on the AP/DOJ bullshit.

It isn't racist to ask serious questions about Bengazi as long as those questions remain unanswered.

Nothing racist about it.

I hate it when the race card is played because it's the best card in the hand.

This is about abuse of power and misleading the American people.

Not pretty, but that's what it is.

Calling criticisms racist is a vapid response that insults anyone who is paying attention.

There absolutely is a racist element to the rethug attacks on Obama. One of the reasons they're pushing so hard on Benghazi is to prove that Obama is "soft" on terrorism. Because we all know that he's a closet Muslim. That seems to be the gist I'm getting from listening to the far right.

right wing ideology involves all sorts of bigotry and racism. No one has ever claimed that all critisism of the POTUS is the result of racism- but the impetus behind the willingness to believe all of the conspiracy theories and other charges against this president is more readily observable in the actions of right wing extremists and thier expressions of hatred and charges of treason for the POTUS. This level of vitriol is unprecedented and requires a logical examination. The discrepencies between the reactions and lies about past democratic presidents contain the proof that right wing extremists garner a good deal of thier agenda towards the POTUS from racist animus of treasonous teabaggers.
Right wing racism didnt end with the election of Obama- it has increased 100-fold- and antiAmerican extremists are VERY proud of thier racist maverick pose.

but to promote the idea that Obama is a target only and mainly because he is black is in itself a type of racism. The political right, TP, and the wealthy overlords are not that dumb. They will promote race hatred as a device to accomplish their goal. Racism for those in power is not the point, they don't give a damn. They don't make a buck or control the country by hating minorities. That is a dead end. What they want is to maintain their power, increase it, make money and put the rest of us without our detection into servitude. That is a goal that has teeth. Racism means nothing, it's only a means to their end. To divide and conquer is as old as humanity itself.

Stay out of that trap. We must recognize that racism is prevalent and ugly and we must fight it, not promote it. Racism is one of the best tools the powerful few have to break us.

He does not fight back and they will continue to attack him on anything and everything.

If the President would have fought back from the beginning things would not have been so bad, instead he chooses to be nice to the RW in the name of bipartisanship which many, those on the left and right, see as a weakness and the RW is exploiting it to their maximum advantage.

The President has chosen to be nice instead of fighting back and actually do something meaningful so the constant faux scandal will be the norm till 2016, get used to it.

Like my 2 year old granddaughter when she dosen't get what she wants. Instead of trying to make life better for Americans, they spend every waking moment trying to undermine the Administration and paralyze everything. It's a familiar Repug strategy: make government grind to a halt and then run for office claiming "when Dems are in power, government dosen't work."
So they lost their #1 priority, making him a one-term president. Now they have to make sure absolutely no progress is made in his second term so the public will hunger for "fresh solutions" come 2016. Even more infuriating to them is: 1. Unlike Bill Clinton, his personal life is 100% clean, no matter how hard they try to find something; 2. He's black. So get used to manufactured, trumped up, baseless "scandals" for the next 3.5 years. If they can smear Hillary in the process, icing on the cake.
