It's sure been a good week for this skywatcher

As a smoker and insomniac I get the chance to watch the sky while indulging my perversion. In the past week I've seen at least half a dozen absolutely spectacular meteorites. I'm in SW PA and it seems every time there's a good meteor shower we are clouded and overcast.
I'm used to seeing those tiny little specks that are only noticed if you happen to be looking in the right direction at the right time. This last week every one has drawn my attention because of its brilliance and duration. They were all easily twice the brilliance of a full moon. They were pretty much equally divided between SSE and NW quadrants with durations from 3 to 5 seconds.
My suggestion even if you're not a smoker pull out a lawn chair and put your eyes to the sky, you might be moved by what you see.
