Dead Children Were Asphyxiated!

The medical examiner reported that cause of death for at least a half dozen of the children that died was that they were smothered by debris. PLEASE SOMEBODY GIVE THE SCHOOLS ENOUGH CONCRETE TO BUILD TUNNELS FOR SAFE AREAS DURING THESE TORNADO TIMES!!! The children can play in them during their recess times, decorate them during art time and live.
Love, Peace and SHELTER.

Please do the happy thing and save the innocent children who have NO say in government or fiscal policy and know nothing about stocks and bonds and the RW or LW and just can't protect themselves.

Grown ups? Be adults. Be responsible.

HOW'S THIS?
Save an abortion, asphyxiate your child instead. Drowning would be too humane for those unwilling to find any means possible to save one child. ONE!

Don't need a sarcasm disclaimer here, do we?

"Metaphor: Situation vs. the Real Thing

You may have often heard expressions such as “he drowned in a sea of grief” or “she is fishing in troubled waters,” or “success is a bastard as it has many fathers, and failure is an orphan, with no takers.” All these expressions have one thing in common: a situation is compared to a real thing" ...simile, imagery, brick up side the head, whatever it takes...the concept of TORNADOS KILL just seems to be lost on some people. Maybe they are still in shock from years of experience.

In case you missed it, that was a metaphore as well, only mine was accurate. Stop with the victim blaming. It's inappropriate and hateful and has no place here.

Solutions to problems. Feel free to continue spewing your putrid bile filled ideas here. Blaming your perceived blamer is such an ideal way to create a solution here. Blaming an act of god is an easy way out. Sounds like you are the one suggesting the victims deserve to die because they couldn't control the weather. So tell me does the demo stand for demolition? Just because your keen negativity suggests nothing more. Please add in quotes what words used in this thread read as blaming the victim and while you are at it try putting a thinking cap on and offer some solution. The thread is about saving the lives of children just in case you missed that point. By the way I blame the village idiot for making me laugh but I don't want him dead. Who would we turn to for entertainment if we lost him? The devil on the other hand ...I say let him burn.

Everything else is just victim blaming, and it's pretty damn pathetic. Are you perhaps unaware that Hurricane Sandy, with over a WEEK'S warning, killed more people and as many children as this storm? Do you blame the victims there as well, both for failing to get out of the way -- and with the warming they had they could have walked to safety -- or for "failing" to demand better levees and protections and hurricane evacuation shelters? And hell, they get hit with Hurricanes every couple years -- F5 tornadoes are bloody rare and many towns and cities have NEVER been hit even by one, let alone two.

Why do you hold people who had ten minutes warning to a higher standard than people who had a week to get ready and a population in the millions to fund their safety net? Why the ludicrous double standard? Is it because you feel safe in talking trash about the victims in this case?

I think it's better to drop the victim blaming altogether. People everywhere do the best they can, and as Democrats we are supposed to be on the side of the little guy, we are supposed to be their ADVOCATE and defender, even if they are from Oklahoma.

who chose not to expend money to create safe zones for the schools. This wasn't the 2nd tornado but the 3rd and that is tornado country. I lived through a few myself when I lived in that area. No, the policy makers chose to give rich people more money so they could be richer and ignored the needs of the schools because as my dear departed mother used to say, "children don't vote."

But did you see the Mayor of Moore on TV? He was asked specifically why they don't have more shelters, and he directly answered "money".

I wish with all my heart the people there had different priorities, but they didn't.

Time will tell. How expensive and difficult can it be to build concrete tunnels? Sand itself would be better served in concrete, maybe that's where the heads really are and the hearts too, in stone. Gives hard headed and hard hearted new meaning for me. If given an empowered opportunity I believe the school children that survived could teach us a thing or two about how to save their classmates in the future.

Sad as this sounds, maybe a tragedy like this will get people's priorities straight.

Then again, this is America. And expect the school to be sued.

How terrible is it that we build structures to keep the money safe, but not the kids?
