A friend of mine said pretty much the same thing yesterday. Had he heard this quote or is the sentiment universal?

the GOP mindset, and the ignorant voting public of those Red States. They gave over $200 Million in breaks to the Oil companies. According to MSNBC, each school shelter would cost around $1.2 Million.

That gift to the oil companies would have built 166 school shelters. Even more if they would go to FEMA for matching funds. If the elementary school would have had one the nation wouldn't be mourning the deaths of those children.

I'm not sure if anything could impress on the GOP that part of the function of government to provide for the safety of its citizens, and that isn't just having a bloated military.

The reporter asked her over and over the same question, and each time she tried skipping back to HOME storm safety shelters... Then finally came out and said that No, schools should not be required to have shelters.

I guess requiring that would impede our freedums.
