Right to Lifer: Getting raped is like your home being flooded - so get insurance for it.

Michigan conservative group Right to Life president Barbara Listing made jaws drop on Wednesday when she made a mind-numbing and supremely ignorant comment – especially for a woman – comparing getting raped to being in a car accident or having your home flooded, telling reporters at a press conference:

“Nobody plans to have an accident in a car accident, nobody plans to have their homes flooded, and you have to buy extra insurance for those, too…”

The comment was made at a Board of Canvassers meeting as Right to Life of Michigan was gearing up for a petition drive to ban health insurance companies from covering abortion procedures, even in cases of rape or incest. The proposed initiative would instead make the coverage an optional rider. It’s fairly obvious that low-income and poor families and woman would be the hardest hit.

The Board of Canvassers meeting was also attended by dozens of protesters from Planned Parenthood along with representatives from Progress Michigan who vigorously oppose the proposed erosion of woman’s rights.

It is why our nation is flushing down the toilet.

Insurance is the answer to everything?

If you believe the financial mogul's political puppets it is.

Where are the big insurance providers when you need them?

I know....getting bailed out at taxpayer expense for being too big to fail.

Let's make them even bigger. Let's just keep adding more to the list of things they can't cover.

ALEC World. Our politicians live in ALEC world.

What a misogynistic religious asshole.

But when your god blesses someone offers up his own children for rape, I guess your morals might be corrupted by such knowledge.

when your god demands you kill your own child as a sign of faith... well, should you expect from such barbaric believers?

but nobody is home. Cosmically stupid people should NEVER, EVER be allowed to make public policy. BUT they should be heard on national TV, so that The People can gasp at the magnanimous ignoramus.
