Illinois illegally seizes bees resistant to Monsanto’s Roundup; Kills remaining Queens

The Illinois Ag Dept. illegally seized privately owned bees from renowned naturalist, Terrence Ingram, without providing him with a search warrant and before the court hearing on the matter, reports Prairie Advocate News.

Behind the obvious violations of his Constitutional rights is Monsanto. Ingram was researching Roundup’s effects on bees, which he’s raised for 58 years. “They ruined 15 years of my research,” he told Prairie Advocate, by stealing most of his stock.

Ingram can prove his bees did not have foulbrood, and planned to do so at a hearing set in April, but the state seized his bees at the end of March. They have not returned them and no one at the Ag Dept. seems to know where his bees are.

The bees could have been destroyed, or they could have been turned over to Monsanto to ascertain why some of his bees are resistant to Roundup. Without the bees as evidence, Ingram simply cannot defend against the phony charges of foulbrood

I'm trying to convince my husband that we should start beekeeping -- not having much luck as he's a bit afraid of the wee things -- and this article caught my eye on facebook.

It splashed in a 'penny-saver' magazine, Prairie Advocate News:

It was discussed extensively on DU at this thread and generally dismissed:

The only mention of Monsanto is his quote: "Knowing that Monsanto and the Dept. of Ag are in bed together, one has to wonder if Monsanto was behind the theft to ruin my research that may prove Round-Up was, and is, killing honeybees."

So he speculates, without any evidence beyond "they do things together", and without drawing a conclusion. The globalreasearch writer has changed that (from over a year ago) to a straight statement of fact: "Behind the obvious violations of his Constitutional rights is Monsanto". I can find no developments in the story since the bees were confiscated.

It comes down to: do you trust government scientists to accurately detect diseases? Or do you think they are in the pay of priavte companies, and will lie?

I wonder what the point of the confiscation would be, anyway, from Monsanto's point of view. If Ingram says that most bees are not resistant to Roundup, but his were, what would the confiscation of them prove? All the bees vulnerable to Roundup would still exist - and they'd be the problem for Monsanto. Monsanto would benefit from someone saying "see, some bees are unaffected by the product".

not removed to a lab. They are burned. The entire apiary is destroyed by fire, and all equipment that has been used in that apiary. Burned...by fire...on the spot. Not shipped out. Somewhere, there is more to this old story, but no one knows whom to believe

shouldn't CT bullshit from conspiracy theory sites be in Creative Speculation?

Why are GD Hosts not enforcing the "no conspiracy theories" part of the SOP?
