(36,423 posts)this cable challenged house won't be watching the new season any time soon.
Anyone read any of Craig Johnson's Walt Longmire Mystery series? I've placed a hold on a few at my library, but they must be hot items as they're all checked out.

(17,111 posts)I think they are great. They reveal the culture of a different area with an engrossing mystery. If you like them, read Peter Bowen's mysteries next.

I'll check out Peter Bowen's mysteries, thanks.

(17,111 posts)You would still enjoy them if you didn't. However, there are events that affect what or who might be in the next book.
It's like watching a tv series. The episode might be enjoyable in and of itself, but you are left wondering what happened before when you could tell something had occurred.

(12,132 posts)Longmire came along at just the right time as most of my other faves have ended their seasons. Ain't it funny how that works!?
I really hope this one gets to go for a while - I like Lou Diamond Phillips and think he's great in this but he has a habit of being on shows that don't stick around. It's his turn to have one go for as long as he wants. He and Starbuck are the reasons I gave the show a shot and it turns out it was a good gamble.
