Jamen Shively, a former corporate strategy manager for Redmond, decides he can have a happier life: creating a brand of pot for the good people of Washington state and beyond.
...
Shively, once upon a time, was a corporate strategy manager for Microsoft. Now the 45-year-old wants to create the nation's first brand of marijuana.
His idea, as he explained to the Seattle Times, is to buy his own dispensaries in pot-friendly state such as Washington and Colorado and begin his long march toward a branded fortune.
...
His plan is to import from Mexico. Indeed, former president of the country Vicente Fox appeared with Shively at a Seattle news conference Thursday (video embedded).

(12,041 posts)1. CO and WA residents should support their local growers
Don't let corporations do to pot what they did to tobacco, please support the local dispensaries rather than the guy looking to put those dispensaries out of business in favor of a corporate controlled market.

to be grown under very struck conditions in the State. Traced from seed so to speak.

A variety of high quality products for varying tastes...seems like the booze and coffee industries. Do I care if someone makes money on it? I actually hope they do. Substitute making money and having responsible good times for wasting gouts of money, ruining lives, and dividing the country against itself? Yup. Big win.
