...harder to get them in now.

I pray Obama admin doesn't look towards the hype on the displacement issue from CEOs.

There's not a lot of input on this issue from the everyday US citizen tech worker throughout markets and that has been a frustration with the O admin

field that suits me. It took several years of temp employment at various jobs to end up here, enough to suggest that any "shortage of engineers" is highly exaggerated!

He's a crane operator (steel mill). He was seriously underemployed after his old company cut shifts from 3 8s to 1 8.

He was recruited, and packed up all his stuff and moved.

He'll be making a lot less than what he made before he was laid off, but there was no hope of being called back anytime soon so he took a leap of faith

Been looking since mid-November. I wouldn't say I'm unable, but it is a very slow market for people with high levels of experience.

In my case I have 20+ years in hardware and software tech and current skills in Java (pretty much all flavors, SE, EE) and un*x.

It's slow here in the DC market, I can't imagine what it's like elsewhere.

Really, that's what some free traders say around here. Pity it's against the rules to mention names. They've been in hiding as of late.
