Nikki Haley gives Romney the kiss of death

Last edited Sat Dec 17, 2011, 11:53 AM - Edit history (1)

The national news acts like Haley's endorsement will seal a victory for him in the SC primary. If that had occurred in the first three months of her term, it might have helped.

Since then she has pissed off just about everybody in the state. The Republicans and even the Tea Party are less enamored of her. Her popularity is on a steep slide.

A WaPo writer made her seem like a hard charging reformer who wants to turn the state around. In reality, she has been the pettiest governor in memory. She is also the least transparent, and nobody trusts her.

She wanted to drug test welfare recipients. To bolster her case, she made up an outlandishly high % of job applicants who supposedly failed a drug test at the Savannah River Nuclear Plant. She also pre-determined the outcome of a committee considering joining the health care program after it passed. That wasted $1M dollars.

Those are only two of the stupid moves she has made. She is considered worse than The Applachian Trail Guide who lived in the governor's mansion for 2 terms.

Romney may win, but I would be surprised. If he does, it would be in spite of The Queen Bee and her knighting of him.

(If you think what I say is harsh, it doesn't compare to what the other side says about her.)

The witch is Christine O'Donnell.

She endorsed Romney too, and memorably said “He has been consistent since he changed his mind."

Romney will need all the good spells that can be cast.

She had a scathing segment on Haley and her handling of the health care reform money. Too much information to put in here but let's just say that the local press is not happy with her at all right now.

I read several papers around the state, and she was getting smacked by all of them. I also read the LTTEs to get an idea what some of the readers are thinking. Talk about scathing. That is way too mild.

I didn't think it was possible to piss off the entire state, but she has managed that remarkable feat.

since she is a Republican in SC, she will win re-election over whoever the Democrat is that runs against her.

The Republicans are her worst enemies. They don't want her.

Her election was weird because of the claims of infidelity against her. That made people mad and more inclined to vote for her because there was no proof. She got the Tea Party support and a sympathy vote. Except for hardcore Tea Partiers, that is gone.

The Dem candidate was very good, but he was too nice. He admits he should have been harder on her about her positions.

If the Dems run a decent candidate, they might pull it off.

My 85 year old aunt was so disgusted with Haley that she worked for the Dem. That floored me.

It is impossible to figure this state out. It will zig when you are 100% sure it will zag.

I won't hold my breath, but who knows?

That would be slightly reassuring, except to see how far is too far.

However, most folks think she wasn't 'raised right, bless her heart.' That's the kiss of death.

Some mean her being a Sikh growing up. However, a lot of people don't think she has any manners. That's way worse.

Plus she's tacky. Another black mark.

Thank you Diebold paperless voting machines. A lot of republicans were already against her before she was even elected. It's how we got stuck with Alvin Greene as the Democratic candidate in 2008, as I understand that Mr. DeMented is also not as popular here as folks are being led to believe.

"Kiss of Death". LOL! That was my first thought when I heard it, too.

she dissed Darla Moore. Moore or one of her very powerful friends will get Haley back. Bigtime!

That pissed most people off because Moore is home grown and used her money for something sensible. She is the ultimate steel magnolia.

And, she continues to be the gift that keeps on giving. I'm surprised that she even survived the Darla-dissing. Can't wait to see what else they dig on this twit next. I won't be surprised if she gets run out of office before her term is over.
