Poll: NYC Democratic Mayoral Primary In A Three Way Tie
PERRY STEIN 4:46 PM EDT, WEDNESDAY JUNE 26, 2013
The New York City Democratic mayoral primary is currently in a three-way tie, according to the latest Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday.
City Council Speaker Christine Quinn has 19 percent of the votes, former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner has 17 percent and former City Comptroller William Thompson is now in the pack with 16 percent.
This is a big change from last month's Quinnipiac poll, when Quinn led with 25 percent of the votes, Weiner had 15 percent and Thompson had 10 percent. An NBC poll released Tuesday had Weiner topping Quinn by 5 percentage points, however.
All three of these Democrats, according to the Quinnipiac poll, would win in a head to head match-up against each of the top Republicans running for the seat.
The poll, conducted June 19 - 25, surveyed 1,238 New York City voters with a margin of error of 2.8 percentage points and 830 Democrats with a margin of error of 3.4 percentage points.

(8,155 posts)Every time I think of Anthony Weiner the thought that immediately follows is always the bulge pic. God help me if he wins.

(9,314 posts)Everyone deserves a second chance (well, almost everyone). Horrendous stress influences people to resort to really out-of-character stress relief. I have seen it over and over. I even experienced that phenomenon once myself following the sudden death of my father. I acted out of character for two years and suddenly realized what I was doing and why. I don't think I am unusual. Maybe he experienced the same type of thing. He is a really smart guy but obviously what he did was truly stupid. If I lived in NY, I could vote for him.

(89,264 posts)maybe those in NYC can tell what they are seeing. but it seems like Weiner is the most active and getting out there trying to get votes. but it could just be because the reports i read are more focused on him.

I don't know much about the other contenders.
Except comedian Randy Credico, running as an independent on a platform of stopping the drug war, fighting racism and poverty, and other populist nonsense. It's gotta be a joke.
