They'll either have to pony up beaucoup dinero to keep their investment out of prison, or cut their losses and throw Scottie to the wolves.
Either way, they purchased a faulty product that is severely damaged.

I always thought the extended warranty salesmen were very unconvincing, particularly when it was the guy who just sold you the car and he made it sound like the greatest thing since sliced bread and now it is going to fall apart as soon as you drive it off the lot.
