I have a question on the San Francisco plane accident.

I don't want to sound rude or insensitive but my wife and I are trying to understand: How does a fire truck run over a victim? Was she under something that hid her from view? Was she in a blind spot for the driver?

To be ejected from a plane and survive only to die by the rescue team is well as my wife said "greek tragic like" (she didn't mean that funny or rudely she just was speechless before finally shaking her head and whispering that is Greek Tragic like...

And lots of debris on the ground. Was probably an unimaginably chaotic scene to try to maneuver a huge fire rig around in.

(Speculation only here. I haven't followed this story very closely)
If the plane was on final approach, the passengers would have been belted into their seats. I can imagine it might be possible she was laying on the tarmac, under the remnants of her seat and was therefore obscured from view (especially when all the other visual obstructions such as smoke are considered)
Either way, horrible tragedy.. but it's also possible her injuries from the crash were unsurvivable anyway.

Obviously they didn't see her or didn't realize what they saw was a human being. It's awful, even for the driver Heartbreaking.

It's very possible the driver either didn't see her at all or mistook her for a piece of debris. A very sad accident.

There was some initial speculation that she either stumbled out of the plane and collapsed, or was aided out of the plane by someone else and set down. Either way, she ended up amid the already ankle high dry grass and debris about 30 feet from the plane. It's likely that the driver of the emergency vehicle, focused on the other injured people moving away from the rapidly burning plane, and in an area full of smoke and wreckage, simply didn't see her laying there.
