Some would rejoice...

If the plane carrying Edward Snowden was shot down before it reached Venezuela. They just don't like him. It's not that they like the NSA so much - it's just that they like him much less. It's the old patriotic card. He gave his word. He took an oath and he broke it. There is no reason for anyone to do what he did, in their minds.

But if the plane were shot down, it would create international tensions unlike any seen since the Bay of Pigs. It would not be safe to travel.

So, my hope is that he makes it safely to whatever country he is going to and we can maybe get back to normal here on DU. If he has accomplished nothing else with his leaked information, he has been able to divide DU into separate camps. The disinfectant has been applied.
