North Korea uses Snowden in propaganda video

Edward Snowden Stars In North Korean Propaganda Video

National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden is featured in a new video produced by Uriminzokkiri, a China-based website that provides news and propaganda from North Korea's central news agency and has been described by Reuters as being "ultimately controlled from Pyongyang." The Uriminzokkiri video includes photos of Snowden alongside Guardian coverage of his leaked NSA documents, an ominous soundtrack, footage of Washington, D.C. landmarks, and falling bits of computer code in the style of the movie "The Matrix"

According to a translation from NK News, the narrator in the video claims, "recent news on America’s illegal spying activity has angered countries around the world." The narrator also slams South Korea for its close relationship with the U.S.

"The funny thing is that South Korea is taking sides with its master by rationalizing the idea that any country’s intelligence agencies can collect clandestine information for its own national security. Regardless of whether or not the story can be confirmed, South Korea has to consider the United State’s situation, they say, " the narrator says. "How humiliating and servile! Only a puppet government would welcome American activities with open arms and applaud, even when they commit murder, wage war, or plunder wiretap."

Snowden affair clouds U.S. attempts to press China to curb cyber theft

By Paul Eckert

(Reuters) - Revelations by former U.S. spy agency contractor Edward Snowden will make it harder for the United States to confront China at talks this week over the alleged cyber theft of trade secrets worth hundreds of billions of dollars each year.

Snowden's disclosures of American electronic surveillance around the world give China an argument to counter U.S. complaints that it steals private intellectual property (IP) from U.S. companies and research centers.

Cyber security is at the center of high-level meetings between the two countries in Washington that will show whether a positive tone struck by President Barack Obama and new Chinese President Xi Jinping at a summit last month can translate into cooperation on difficult issues.

Top U.S. officials from Obama down have long tried to convince China to recognize a clear line between the kind of cyber espionage by spy agencies revealed by Snowden and the stealing of technology.

You will not change anyones mind because Snowden is not the issue. The issue is do you trust your government. You obviously do. I've been screwed enough that I know better.

Snowden's actions result in propaganda by N.K. and by you as well. You are doing the EXACT SAME THING as N.K. just hoping for the opposite result.

...who are my "friends"?

Sounds paranoid.

"You must really admire NK propaganda. They can control a whole country with their propaganda, and you can't even control a couple dozen people on a website with your propaganda. Don't feel too bad, though. I'm sure you make more money than the propagandists there!"

WTF?

You didn't disappoint. Now that's embarrassing on steroids.

Hide the propaganda because it may be used as truth.

A few days ago the Abu Ghraib photos came up and I was delighted to hear the informed person doing the talking say that the photos proved that we used batteries attached to captive's privates to torture them. Perhaps we did use batteries in that way; the photos, however, didn't show that.

The United States of America is by far more authoritarian than Venezuela

detaining peole without charges, spying on all its citizens (even on other countries!), killing children with drones, ordering countries to stop planes of another President...etcetera, etcetera.

Now go criticizes Venezuelans for electing Maduro.

Aw man, I should have supported the Iraq War, because an evil man opposed it, and I must always oppose what evil men support.
