In the women's room, women held doors open when they left the stall, for the next person.

Maybe that's why the buzzards quit charging for that.

They were cleaner than the free ones. I wish they would come back. There were mainly free ones but they would have one or 2 dime ones, too.

3. In Chicago

at the train station they allowed one free toilet. It was never clean. It did not have a door! Instead mothers instructed their kids to crawl under the doors. Once you got too large for that you coughed up the change or crossed your legs. This was around 1960.

7. I remember when you paid for use of bathrooms

and all you got to wipe your arse with were those silly folded up crispy paper wipes that felt like cheese graters. Or was that just in the UK?

It cost 20p for the toilet at the train station.

I have to say I don't remember the texture of the paper. Perhaps the experience of using it was so traumatic that I've blocked it out.
