Rush Limbaugh is back in the news, but for an entirely different and surprising reason. During his radio show on Monday, Limbaugh took a call from a listener named Tony. Tony, like any other listener of Rush, has serious issues and sounds like a paranoid crazy person. He complains to Rush about President Obama playing golf and claims President Obama takes entirely too many vacations, which is entirely false. He refers to liberals as “Alinskyites.” You know, because all liberals are molded after evil community organizer, and Newt Gingrich nightmare, Saul Alinsky, who empowered the poor no matter their race and strove to give a voice to the voiceless by organizing them into a body capable of massive protests, believing that the poor and disenfranchised would have more power to make their voices heard if they would come together and speak as one. Of course, Alinsky never subscribed to any particular political view, and once stated that he hated communists and Nazis. At any rate, Tony moved on to a discussion he heard on Fox News and that’s when Rush Limbaugh stepped in.

Limbaugh told Tony and the rest of his listeners to stop watching Fox News because it makes people go insane. In the course of this stunning outburst, Limbaugh also admitted that the rich really love Republicans.

It’s not surprising that Rush Limbaugh would have a problem with Fox News. In the last few weeks, Limbaugh has had somewhat of a feud with the conservative network over the comprehensive immigration reform legislation passed in the Senate. Even so, one wouldn’t think Limbaugh would jump from a mere disagreement with Fox News to telling his listeners to stop watching the channel. After all, there are other reasons to stop watching Fox News.

Not only is Fox News the propaganda arm of the Republican Party, the network is also the top source of misinformation in the media. A 2011 poll conducted by Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey found that Fox News viewers are severely less informed than viewers of other news networks. Even viewers of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Comedy Central are more informed than those who watch Fox.

There’s also plenty of reasons why people should reject Rush Limbaugh. His vitriolic racism and sexism has polluted the airwaves and the minds of his listeners. The hate speech generated by Limbaugh stirred a national backlash last year when he called Sandra Fluke a “slut” and “prostitute” for defending the Obamacare contraception mandate and a woman’s right to have accessible birth control. Since then, over 2,500 sponsors have yanked their ads from the program and the show’s parent company, Clear Channel, has lost millions upon millions of dollars. The backlash continues even today as Rush also faces the eventual loss of his bust being in a place of honor at the Missouri State Capitol because of one woman’s petition to have it removed.

For once, Rush Limbaugh has said something we can all agree on. Everyone should stop watching Fox News. It does nothing make people increasingly ignorant, hateful, and crazy. And we should also stop tuning in to Limbaugh as well for doing the exact same thing.

like all his callers (can't take the chance of a real caller) so no doubt Limpy wanted to take a shot at Fox.

Maybe both sides will arm themselves and have a shootout where ever they keep their money. At least it won't be in the US.
