We Have Entered Bizzaro World...Rushbo Blasts Faux Noise...

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/07/09/rush-limbaugh-says-fox-news-makes-people-crazy-tells-listeners-not-to-watch-it/

Rush Limbaugh is back in the news, but for an entirely different and surprising reason. During his radio show on Monday, Limbaugh took a call from a listener named Tony. Tony, like any other listener of Rush, has serious issues and sounds like a paranoid crazy person. He complains to Rush about President Obama playing golf and claims President Obama takes entirely too many vacations, which is entirely false. He refers to liberals as “Alinskyites.” You know, because all liberals are molded after evil community organizer, and Newt Gingrich nightmare, Saul Alinsky, who empowered the poor no matter their race and strove to give a voice to the voiceless by organizing them into a body capable of massive protests, believing that the poor and disenfranchised would have more power to make their voices heard if they would come together and speak as one. Of course, Alinsky never subscribed to any particular political view, and once stated that he hated communists and Nazis. At any rate, Tony moved on to a discussion he heard on Fox News and that’s when Rush Limbaugh stepped in.

Limbaugh told Tony and the rest of his listeners to stop watching Fox News because it makes people go insane. In the course of this stunning outburst, Limbaugh also admitted that the rich really love Republicans.

...for a long time they saw their ratings grow and complemented one another. The fact Rushbo wasn't on the teevee gave the Fauxbots a "source" they could quote with their usual "some say"...hate radio echoed faux who echoed hate radio and both the ratings and the craziness grew. That hit the wall in 2012...not only did Rushbo piss off a lot of advertisers with Sandra Fluke but he had ZERO affect on the rushpublican primary and even less on the general election. We know how faux embarrassed themselves with their predictions of a Rmoney victory and the Karl Rove meltdown. Now that hate radio is is serious decline and Faux isn't doing too well either, it's every medium for themselves. Rushbo would love to pick a fight...get his name back in the headlines in hopes that people will tune in just to hear what outrageous shit he spews next. For 20 plus years that shtick worked...now...when every time an EMT truck goes to Sun City or the Villages, Rushbo loses another precious listener...

Cheers...

and half-listening when that topic came up. I never heard it like that. He was talking about "low-information" voters and was joking about he and Faux being the only conservative media people could listen to. I did not pick up that he was serious...

he needs sponsors and ratings so he will go nutso like Glen Beck then go back to his normal rubbish .This is show bizz like competing TV shows or movies that go over the top because they have nothing other than going over the top to get noticed.

...if Faux bites. It's the old media "feud"...but it only works when both parties play it up...driving viewers/listeners to both broadcasts. If Faux doesn't play along, Rushbo is dry humping as usual. Stay tuned...

The thing about Rush is I'm pretty sure he knows he's bullshitting most of the time.
Whereas Beck and Hannity are true believers. If being a liberal radio talk host posted in bigger bucks than for conservatives, that's what Rush would have been. He's essentially a carnival barker.

...actually I have a little bit of insight here as I did once talk at length and interview rushbo back in 1988. He was just about to start his national hatefest after working in Sacramento. A long story short, Edward McLaughlin...founder of the "EIB" network and Rushbo designed a program intended to piss people off...talk radio to that point had been more of a town hall approach, they wanted to amp up emotions and Rushbo found that when he pissed off "liberals" he ratings rose. It was a formula that was mostly shtick with a bit of "true believer" mixed in. There's no way rushbo has ever voted for a Democrat but he did admit that a lot of what he says is for shock effect...to draw attention...good or bad. For those who agree...they'll follow you anywhere and listen every day. For those who hate you, they'll also tune in every day just to get pissed off. For a long time the formula worked.

Beck and Hannity have always been rushbo wannabes. They lack rush's quick and nasty wit and mastery of the big lie. I also think over the years rushbo's gotten isolated from the real world in his little studio in Palm Beach that has cost him his edge and any connection with younger listeners...

Cheers...

Today he said straight out that he loved Fox and supported them because they're on the same side.

...I post, you decide:

LIMBAUGH: “You know, you need to stop watching these people, because they’re not gonna change, Tony, and I really care about you. You’ve gotta stop watching these people. All these names you mentioned, they’re not gonna change, and you’re exactly right: If all of this were happening with a Republican president — which it wouldn’t. It couldn’t, by definition. We don’t believe in these policies. But if it were, you’re right: They’d be raising holy hell about it and they’d be calling the president cold-hearted, mean, extremist, exclusionary, rich.

They’d be all over a Republican president. But that isn’t gonna change. So your blood pressure is gonna suffer if you keep watching these people. I mean, they’re designed to get you ticked off. They’re designed to make sure you question your sanity. You’re gonna watch these people and say, “How in the world can we have such idiotic people?” and you’re gonna think maybe they’re not crazy and you are.

And I assure you, Tony, you’re not.

Trust me on that.”
