So what is a Haunting? ( A LFR ramble)

There is another movie coming to the big screen about ghost tormenting a family. Yes, the thought of that kind of ghost is freighting. But that is a Hollywood thing that one can just get up from, leave the theater.
Today, July 9, 2013, in the State of Arizona, 19 brave men were honored. Their families will now be haunted by every cloud of smoke and by any news where others like their brave family member answered the call.
It is a painful haunting. It will last a long time. It is one that a priest cannot exorcize. Only time can ease this pain.
This fire was started by a lightning strike, by Mother Nature. As of late, many a “haunting” have been started due to Mother Nature. She is our greatest friend and our greatest enemy.
Yet, unlike when it is a terrorist or just a plain villain strikes, there is nothing to be done. One cannot take vengeance on Nature. There is no one to bring to Justus. And that is what causes this haunting of the soul.
It is so easy to say it was just one of those things. But when you live through it, when “one of those things” hits you, it is not easy. Not easy by a long shot.
Only time can work on this wound upon the soul. There will be times when it feels like it will never go away. For some it will take years. But as time passes, the good memories of those lost will remain. It is those memories that help to ease the pain.
Memories and time, it is the only things that can cast out the dark spirit of pain.
