Republican Congressman Dances on Trayvon's Grave, Trashes Obama #gopracism

Never underestimate the modern GOP's full-bore racism and their ability to put it on display just when a grieving nation is coming to grips with a justice system that utterly failed to deliver justice for an unarmed black child that was shot and killed by an armed racist vigilante. Not even half a day passed from the tragic Zimmerman verdict when the Republican Racist Caucus' (I'm sorry, the "Tea Party" Caucus) shining white knight Steve King found a way to bash the president and to rub salt on the wound of the Martin family, all at the same time:

The President of the United States, according to the GOP, had no right to comment on the death of an innocent teeanger who was killed by a killer who racially profiled him. The President of the United States had no right to call the nation's attention to the fact that when someone who looks like what the president's son would look like can suffer Trayvon's fate, we are far, far from a post-racial society. No, the President of the United States had no right to do that. Why? Because he's black...

Because anyone who doesn't meet the criteria white, conservative, dominionists set to evaluate the rest of us - but especially black people and people of color (even more specifically black men and men of color) have no right to be human. Because if they are, the racists' most potent weapon - dehumanizing men of color and turn them into scary, violent animals - falls apart...

There is a great picture at the link I cannot get to post. Google results for pictures with the statement, 'If i had a son, he'd look like Trayvon Martin' are anti-Trayvon, birther, anti-Obama images. What PBO said really made some people mad. Well, fine, I'm mad, too:

I have no patience for it.

I have trouble even wrapping my mind around it. This is not how I was brought up. I thought we were better than that.

May Steve King and the rest rot in hell. They are inhumane.

It is an evolution, and draws the focus back on the Koch brothers, NRA, ALEC and SYG mentality working to dismantle all avenues of seeking justice. Which must be in a peaceful manner, or it leads to more of the mob rule by the GOP Teas.

I also was not brought to think the way that Steve King and so many of these haters do. For all faux concern the faux patriots for the US Constitution spew, they disagree with the tenet of 'All Men Are Created Equal.'

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

These are the words millions of people aspire to see realized in their lives, that says their lives matter, that they are entitlted to the freedom to be who they are, not targets in a shooting gallery for the powerful and wannabes. We have never fully lived up to this ideal, but its spirit is as strong as the human spirit we've seen rise through the ages.

The Confederate constitution is the one they follow, as they can profit by enforcing inequality on others, depriving them of work, land, their lives. Many excuses are used in this depraved action. MLK said that America is not a place, but an Ideal. And that it is worth working toward it.

Those who don't support that Ideal can quit the BS of calling themselves American or patriot. The time for their hatred being kowtowed to has passed.

'Vote and change the laws,' as Stevie Wonder said in his latest concert in Canada. It's time.
