I want a credible investigative journalist to write a book
about the Trayvon Martin murder from the night of Trayvon's death until the post trial era. The more and more information that comes out, the sicker I become about the whole thing. The system was rigged and TM's family never had any hope of obtaining justice for their son. I would really like to see someone investigate all of the players, including the members of the jury. If RW Conservatives and Gun Nuts want GM as a poster boy for their cause let them get to know him for the scumbag he truly is. If the author could properly source it out I would want every little dirty nasty incident from his life included. If we can't him sent to prison, then we can work on publicly humiliating him and make him toxic.
This case has so much more ramifications then just to TM's family. This case matters to millions of families out there with young children whose safety is jeopardized. A child can be an A student, school athlete, community volunteer, church going kid and his parents have to be concerned when he goes out that he might not return.
We live in a country with the biggest gun culture in the planet. Yes, most gun owners are responsible, but you cannot automatically assume anyone you come in contact with as a responsible owner. This whole Stand Your Ground/Castle Doctrine/Self Defense grants too much freedom for an irresponsible gun owner to set someone up to die, claim self defense and get away with it. If I hear about a gun shooting death where the gun shooter claims self defense, I no longer assume it is self defense. Call me skeptical because I want proof of self defense.
This country has flat out gone off the the deep end. I now fear police officers (way too many stories of police officer misdeeds regarding people and pets) and gun owners way way more then I do common criminals. You know what to expect from a criminal. You don't know which police officers and gun owners are bat sh*t crazy. When I used to be able to travel overseas a lot I used to be out and about all the time from sunup until midnight or later. At home in the US, once I get out of work I really prefer to stay home or close to home. Life is too short and things are just getting way to crazy.
