It's interesting how Snowden/Greenwald have gathered supporters/detractors from such diverse corners.

Ellsberg likes Snowden. Bernstein does not. Carl Hayes likes him. Melissa-Harris Perry does not.

The subject is complicated if one bases one's opinion on already designated heroes. Some heroes get thrown under the bus, some gain in stature.

It's a mix all around.

You implied that she was a corporate shill, which I think is unfair. My assumption was that your implication is because she disagrees with you on some level.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Actually, that occurred in 2005. They recently divested themselves of MSNBC.com, the web outlet.

Spouting brainless nonsense when I used to watch MSNBC. She is one of the reasons I quit watching cable news, and if ratings are anything to go by, I'm not the only one.

She always struck me as someone desperate to be seen as an intellectual.

Prior to that, she was an associate professor of politics and African-American studies at Princeton University from 2006 to 2010 and taught political science at the University of Chicago from 1999 to 2005.

Y'all may disagree with her, but attempts to demean her intelligence are really unseemly.

cuckoo land. Like Harry Reid keeps making deals with Mitch McConnell, hoping this time he'll keep his word, this is hoping that this time they will change their practices because they are being watched. Once the public starts focusing on the next shiny object and away from Snowden, the kid gloves will come off. Then it will be move over Bradley Manning, you are about to meet the enhanced interrogators.

Is that reassuring?

That's like saying black teenage boys don't have to worry if they're out alone in Florida, we are satisfied that they "won't be mistreated". As to celebrity being a guarantee, did the high profile of the Florida case ensure that all was fair and right?

Get it now, Melissa?
