The Colorado tornado warning today August 3, 2013 was issued moments ago by officials. It marks the latest in a series of tornado warnings for Colorado this Saturday.
Weather Underground tweeted about an hour ago that there was a Tornado Warning for Morgan County in CO until 2:30 PM MDT. After multiple extensions, that alert now is set until 3:15 PM MDT. The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Tornado Warning for southwestern Washington County in northeast Colorado after new radar spotting Saturday.
Officials indicate that at 230 PM MDT a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Last Chance or 33 miles north of Limon. The storm is not moving fast. NWS indicates to news that the storm moving south at 5 mph.
Offiicals are warning residents of possible hazards today as well. They include a possible tornado and ping pong Ball size hail. They are concerned that a radar indicated rotation today and that possibly Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Officials also indicate that Locations impacted include Last Chance, Woodlin school and Lindon.

The Denver area's under a tornado watch right now, but actual tornado weather is hitting east of us.

One nice thing about living in the Front Range - Fort Collins to Denver to Colorado Springs, is that if you're sufficiently close to the foothills (say west of I-25), the foothills tend to disrupt tornado formation (but not always - keep an eye open), so they're far less frequent.
If you live further east, in Colorado plains country, you might be in trouble today.

and the thunder was rolling continuously toward the east - it seemed like it never stopped...
