i saw something strange last night
I came home from work with 2 pineapple heads and went on my porch to plant them in a planter I had ready
when I went out I looked up and said "oh the big dipper sure is out tonight " and planted my pineapples
while doing so I thought well the big dipper is not there and its not made of big glowing orange balls and it points in the other direction
so I looked again and only the basket part of the light formation remained
I don't know where the others went but the dipper part of the formation remained long enough for me to get my wife out to see it too
then a plane approached it from the south and all four of the remaining lights either flew away levelly very quickly or the lights dimmed until they were invisible
I went inside and a friend of mine was at the door and he asked did you see those lights and described to me what I just described to you we went to my computer and googled orange ball ufos and this pic was there
it was taken in England
this is the exact formation I first saw
I live 2 miles south of a major air force base and the headquarters of the US eastern test range
our air is never without traffic but except for that one plane there was nothing in the air for several hours
the coast guard or the navy was in the water (they both have bases within 20 miles) using some kind of high intensity strobe about an hour afterwards and through to sunup
I have never given much credence to this sort of thing but this left me with a major case of the willies and I am afraid it may advance into a full blown case of the creeps!
to the powers of DU this is not to advance any type of wackadoodle thinking
I swear on the holy orange lights of our new overlords I am only reporting my own personal experience

I've seen flares used over bases near Lompoc, CA.
They can hang in the sky a long time and drift as a group, then disappear as they burn out, I suppose.
tied to balloons (which struck us as a pretty irresponsible form of celebration)...
I'm not saying its alienz..

On a serious note, lucky you! I've never seen an UFO. Not yet anyways *sighs*
