WHOA! Just found out that a guy I dated years ago charged with murder.

A cold case. He said that the girl had drowned and the cops were unable to charge him. Way back in the day, they came to my job and asked to talk to me about him, because I had dated him.

Every once in a while, I get curious and look him up on the web, expecting to see him charged with murder (I think he is involved in the I-45 murders), and there he was!

On Edit: And he looks like HELL! I guess that's what drugs will do to you.

which has made it less possible to convict people on charges with no evidence. No evidence has always resulted in acquittal. The self defense laws have not been changed from their historical roots. The change was a failed experiment into a policy called 'duty to retreat'...a policy which failed and has since been revoked in every state it was attempted. Why? Because way too many innocent people were convicted or left penniless trying to defend themselves again..there is nothing liberal about putting victims on trial or convicting innocent people..

Evidence included fact Zman was violent, on meds that make one aggressive, was a bigot, training to beat people up, carried a gun in case training didn't work, etc.

SYG changed focus to few seconds before he murdered Martin. What happened then did not matter because Zman had already begun the murder dance.

Gun nuts and bigots support Zman, that tells me something, even if you choose to ignore it.

his papers. We weren't best buddies or anything, but we were friendly enough. He liked to joke around and he talked about sex a lot, but that's rather normal for guys that age. A couple of days after the last time I saw him, the state police were on campus looking for him. None of us had any idea why they were there; we all thought he was just missing and his parents had the cops looking for him.

A couple of days later, there was a story in the paper about a woman who had been raped and killed. My friend was listed as the suspect. This was a rather small college, and everybody was shocked. Last I heard, he was in prison, but I don't know how much time he got. It's a weird feeling when you find out a friend is a murderer and rapist. Makes you wonder how many other violent criminals you know.

my dog got out of our fence and was running at large. At around 9am a knock at our door and it was the local code enforcement officer bringing her back. I was out looking for the dog when my wife called me to tell me she had been returned. When I got home my wife and the enforcement guy were sitting on the porch and he was drinking a bottle of water my wife gave him. We talked for 10 or 15 minutes..then he was on his way. About 2 weeks later the enforcement officer was arrested..Dennis Rader..

I had spoken with him a few other times. The house next door was vacant and the owner lived out of state. He would come by periodically and measure the grass. The city could mow the yard and charge the property owner when the grass reached a certain length. Park City is a fairly small town and I lived on a street which was a residential thoroughfare so I saw him nearly every day driving by. We have since wondered if he intended to come back and lure her out of the yard when the timing was better..she was very docile and didn't bark. He found her after a call reporting her stuck in the fence at a hotel parking lot, so too many people knew about her. She was a German Shepard.

My first instinct is to say that he must have done something to those kids, but you never know. The hardest thing to understand about such a situation is why you didn't see any signs of abnormality. We tend to think that it's hard for people to become murderers. The more I look at the world, the more it seems that murder isn't so abnormal. We all have it in us; some people just don't have the ability to suppress those feelings and stay within the bounds that society sets for us.

overnight for a sleepover. I came home the next afternoon after the sleepover. That evening after it got dark outside, my friend called me to tell me what happened. My friend's older brother waited until it got dark outside, then went outside their father's den window and shot him from there. The shot killed him instantly. The older brother was trying to make it look like someone else did it, but the family knew the older brother did it. I hadn't been home 3 hours when she called me to tell me what happened. I have never gotten over that.

About ten years after high school graduation, I found out that a classmate was in prison for murder. I actually got into a fistfight in the hall with him, when he was picking on one of my smaller friends. We were taken to the principal's office, and I immediately backed the other guy down, the principal asked, "Is this true, Mike?" to the other guy, and he sheepishly held his head down and admitted it.

When I found out that his bullying led to prison time, I figured I had dodged a bullet.

This is what you get for choosing to date people based on their looks. This guy was movie star hot, but he was incredibly evil inside.

Now? All the ugly, inside, looks like it came out. I can't believe how bad this guy looks. He's 59 and he looks at least 70. And a BAD 70, at that.

And he didn't seem weird to her. I think that was her first book, don't recall the title at the moment.

I won't say most, but I recall from college studying psychological illness that many career criminals are interpersonally charming and attractive. It's part of what creates the opportunities they need in order to exploit people/situations, so as to satiate the demands of their psychopathologies.

Glad you dodged that bullet!

It broke my heart to find out that the sweet, rosy cheeked innocent kid I knew had become a stone cold killer.
