Speaking at a town hall meeting earlier this month, Florida Republican congressman Ted Yoho promised that he would support possible birther legislation floated by Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX), telling the audience that after learning about a potential birther bill from Stockman while attending a Tea Party meeting, he called the congressman and agreed to back it.
While Yoho told the crowd that the issue of President Obamas birth certificate was a distraction from topics like the national debt, he said he was hopeful that a birther investigation could bring down the whole government: They said if it is true, its illegal, he shouldnt be there and we can get rid of everything hes done, and I said I agree with that.

There was another veterinarian a republican U.S. Senator (I think he was, can't remember his name) that retired not too long ago.

(51,666 posts)When I was a senior in vet school I also worked as a teaching assistant for the freshman vet students' microbiology class. He was a smarmy, phony, slick guy even then. I wasn't at all surprised to hear he went into politics, and I was delighted when he fell as hard as he did, lol.

(51,666 posts)send a kitty's head in to the county lab for rabies testing. He was a little 3 MO, 2 lb stray that got sick and bit both his rescuer and me and then died. Sigh.
But he was negative for rabies, so that's a relief.
