The attention spam of the average person is astounding and what they actually will talk about or even argue about. And then they wonder why America is going to hell.

I am a year and four months older than the voting rights act and it pains me to no end that I will seem to long out live this bill. We should be out in the streets en masse fighting this gross injustice.

. . .it makes me just want to walk away from the board in disgust.

The heads in the sand on the VRA here is highly disappointing to me. Goodness knows, I've endured countless lectures on the importance and primacy of progressive initiatives, and, I can't imagine an issue more vital and relevant to our discussions and advocacy here than the defense of the Act.

I'll stick around today, just long enough to see where the discussion of this important milestone today goes. If it doesn't get any more traction than it has so far, I'm apt to just shut it all off . . .
