Ted Cruz's father: "‘Homosexual Marriage’ Designed To Make Government Your God"

The new federal health care law will "destroy the elderly" and "homosexual marriage" is designed to supplant God with government, Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-TX) father warned conservatives in Iowa over the weekend.

In a fiery speech Saturday at the Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa, Pastor Rafael Cruz laid out a number of socialist doomsday scenarios that he claimed are playing out in the United States, likening President Barack Obama to Fidel Castro.

“Socialism requires that government becomes your god,” he said, as quoted by The Des Moines Register. “That’s why they have to destroy the concept of God. They have to destroy all loyalties except loyalty to government. That’s what’s behind homosexual marriage.”

I've got news for them. Ted Cruz was educated at Faith West Academy in Katy, TX and graduated from the Second Baptist High School in Houston - a "Dr." Ed Young's outfit. Ed Young is a demigod unto himself and is a crazed Obama hater. In high school at Second Baptist, Cruz participated in the Free Market Education Foundation where he learned conservative economic philosophy as taught by Milton Friedman, Friedrich Hayek, and other assorted Fascists.

Cruz's nutty father is an evangelical pastor in Dallas, although he was a full-time oil company employee in Canada, where Ted was born.

So if you think this guy is gaming the Republican Party and really has some sense, owing to his Princeton degree, think again. It's akin to George W. Bush at Yale and Harvard. Some people aren't educable.

10. Let me get this "straight".....

(1) The ACA will destroy the elderly. How exactly is that going to happen? The destruction of our seniors is not going to happen because of changes in Medicare that are part of the ACA but could well be precipitated by drastic cuts in Social Security such as changes in the inflation index.

(2) Homosexual Marriage is being advocated because gays and lesbians want to create a loyalty to the government rather than God? Hmmm. As a gay man the last thing I had in mind when I have been supporting marriage equality is making God-fearing people, regardless of religion, sexual orientation, etc. give up their loyalty to God and turn instead toward loyalty to the government. This is news to me.

On a related matter most of these knuckle-dragging conservatives equate God and Country because they believe that Murka is the new chosen land (Israel is now second place because they did not accept Jesus as the savior).
