I'll admit, there is no schadenfreude I enjoy more than when a Politician who crusades against sexual deviance is caught in a sexual scandal.
I'm pretty much a sexual deviant by most of their standards because I believe in extra-marital sex. Frankly, I don't believe in marriage at all, unless we could go back to the days when it's only a year at a a time. But that's really just a side-issue.
There are so many people who heard Obama's inspirational message of "Yes, WE can" and somehow interpreted it as "Yes, I can".
Obama restored the balance of the Constitution, where the President made recommendations and the Congress passed the Laws and the President was forced to carry out the laws that Congress passed.
And yet, so many people seemed upset that Obama didn't act as a Dictator and give them what they wanted.
Yet, he managed to rid our military of DADT - not with a sweep of his Executive pen, but in a way that will last. He managed to get DOMA declared unconstitutional - this was something he couldn't have done individually. He could have just passed an XO saying "don't prosecute it", but the next President could have just repealed it.
For all you 420 advocates, he knows. Holder has already proposed changes to the way we prosecute drug laws. Holder is not Obama, but Obama trusts Holder to do his job with all the pressure that's upon him. No matter what he thinks is "right", he still has to follow the law as passed by Congress. He is in a very precarious position. If the President doesn't like his job, he can be replaced. But his job is to do what Congress tells him to do.
Basically, he reports to 2 different managers. I' d hate to be in his position.

By the way, watch out for Holder. He's probably prepping us to accept more low-level crimes as federal

(7,759 posts)favor reforms to mandatory minimums complain that the Obama administration was giving them what they wanted. The complaint...and it made it sound like Obama institutes mandatory minimums...was that it took too long for the administration to address the issue. They didn't even sound happy that the issue was being addressed.
It's like..."I dislike you Mr. President, but I really hate you when you do what I want."
He lost me long ago. I just want his term to pass as soon as possible.
I shall await to see what Holder actually implements before I give credit. Certainly the talk is absolutely right on. As it has been many times before.

Any my complaint isn't "that Obama didn't act as a Dictator and give them (me) what they (I) wanted." It's that I got too often got the opposite of what I wanted, to wit ...

"Looking forward"
Mandatory commercial, for-profit, health insurance
