I would think that this is ONE issue upon which every citizen of a "democracy" can agree.

(2,424 posts)A country that we planted bugs on during an economic summit. They complained briefly until we told them to STFU and start fucking with Greenwald instead. The guy that revealed that the US planted those bugs on the Brits is their "enemy".
This is how much we have them by the balls.

(21,506 posts)"Greenwald told the New York Times that Miranda went to Berlin to deliver materials downloaded by Snowden to Poitras and to acquire from Poitras a different set of materials for delivery to Greenwald, who lives with Miranda near Rio de Janeiro.?
Yea that probably had nothing at all to do with it.
Investigative journalists and relatives are to be seized by the state police.
But it was send a message, too, apparently.

(62,325 posts)And that is just my first question. The second is:
Explain why a Journalist cannot send an assistant to collect material received from a Source from another Journalist, in order to do his job?
Explain what is illegal about that if you can?
The UK and GB share lintel and resources. This exposes British intell as well as US. Surely you aren't that Ignorant you have read more than enough on this to know this.
Because he calls himself a journalist does not mean he gets a free pass to posses stolen material.
And third according to dear Mr Greenwald Miranda isnt a journalist so any protections afforded to journalist would not apply to him.

(62,325 posts)that the UK was operating on its own and was not working with or for the US. Okay, that's been my opinion also.
So, what did Greenwald do wrong that has sparked such an interest in his family? Miranda is not a journalist, he was assisting two journalists in the gathering of news. Is that a crime now? I know several Journalists who use assistants this way. So now it's a crime to assist a journalist in his work?
Exactly what did Miranda do that warranted having his belongings stolen and being detained and threatened with jail and denied access to a lawyer of his choice, for over nine hours??
No one who has defended this has yet explained the crime and apparently there was none since he was not arrested and has returned to his country which would be very unlikely to hand him over to any Western Colonial State, even 'former' Colonial State. So we have to assume he is not a criminal, yet his possessions were stolen from him.
And where is the crime in a Journalist using material given to him by a Source regardless of how it was obtained by the source??
I don't see any crime here, on the part of Greenwald or Miranda according to the law and many court rulings on exactly this issue.
Maybe you can explain?

(1,867 posts)Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't GB part of the UK? If that's the case then I'm sure that they share lintel and resources galore. Weee!

(30,058 posts)them in the mud. GG is trying to show how smart he is, in the world of undercover he has lots to learn before he tackles the big boys. Starting with the fact he continues to push information prior to 2009 and does not push the point the facts changed and he is leaving the idea it has occurred currently in recent times shows he is not interested in the truth. By passing information there is a violation of the Constitution and as a Constitutional attorney he knows he is not delivering the proper information. GG's integrity is going lower everyday. Now he indicates he wants to write a book, it will be located in the fictional section of the book store.
