Its easier to talk in generalities, then base a false conclusion on the generalities, than to actually invest the time and resources into digging for the truth.

The biases pretty much always come out in the same direction - pro-business, pro-corporate, pro-authority, pro-consumerism...

in which everyone blamed or asked Bush to resolve price spikes then. Sure their are biases but they cut both directions. Not that I am defending Bush.

delivered largely by spokesmodels. Even the local news around my area does this. Perky-looking blondes and boy next door types, well coiffed and clad, who struggle to get the story out of their mouths. Then it is off into the spin hopper with whatever they said, for processing and "analysis." Personally, I'd rather have plain or homely people just give the news in an accurate, unbiased way.

that on all the local "news" programs I see, the folks responsible for "hair styles" and "wardrobe" are named in the closing credits, but "fact checkers" are nowhere to be seen. Next time you see a local news show, check the closing credits and you'll see what I mean.

I think that tells you where the priorities are.
