12,783 days...306,803 hours...18,408,200 minutes...

That's the length of time you must suffer if you knowingly divulge confidential evidence of US war crimes. That on top of the other forms of torture suffered upon you before conviction.

Jesus Christ, what have we done.

Excepting collateral damage on non-important human beings.

Good though. At least you are being transparent. Now I can add you to the list of people who support torturing suspects and covering up war crimes.

you havent even looked at.

I think the sentence was just. The kid was obviously going through a tough time in his life when he did this. He could have easily gotten the full 90 years and the judge would have been justified in giving it to him. As it sands he should be out in 7 years and hopefuly he will get some help in the meantime.

I think the sentence shows a lot of compassion on the judges part.

Reading comprehension, people.

I am calling you mean spirited for the way you are treating this issue. For the way you are essentially mocking a whistleblower who was just sentenced to spend the majority of the rest of his life behind bars for revealing war crimes to the public.

Coming from someone who repeatedly ignores the fact that Manning dumped thousands of documents he had no idea of what was contained within.

The fact that they happened to contain a couple of items you deem to be government misbehavior does not equal whistle blower.

They also put lots of peoples lives in danger but you cant comprehend that apparently. Sadly neither did manning cause he didnt even read them!

So yea he got off easy the judge recognized he was a screwed up kid and took mercy on him. He could have easily have sentenced him to the whole 90 years.

it's not the leakers fault he leaked the names its the peoples who published the leaks.

It is exactly why he got the time he did. He endangered peoples lives by dumping info he hadn't even looked at regardless of the consequences.

He is a hero for releasing the info you think needed to be exposed but not at all responsible for the stuff that shouldnt have been. Do you even hear yourself?

You probably SHOULD Lie your country into war, and you probably SHOULD sweep up hundreds of innocent people and throw them in your gulags where you torture them and even let your friend Rumsfeld watch some of the torture.

You probably SHOULD go to the wrong country, take control of their oil, but tell the people you're looking for WMDs, kill over a million human beings and totally destroy their country.

Because if you do all that, you will live in luxury for the rest of your life. You will be honored and praised for your 'patriotism'. You will receive a days long state funeral when you die and everyone will talk about what a what compassionate, kind, patriotic person you were.

One thing you will not do is go to jail.

.........

You probably shouldn't expose War Crimes because you will be called a traitor and sent to jail for decades.

America, what a country.
