1. Looking that way, and no.

If Hollywood reflected reality, then "our" troops would go in, defeat the "bad guys," and all the "good guys" would cheer in the end.

However, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan seems to be a better reflection of our modern-day military actions. If we do invade Syria, then I really, really hope the invasion is nothing like those three wars.

2. Obama said "it's not serious" so it's extremely serious. This has potential to flare wildly

throughout the mid-east and their giant allies (the US are already involved; Syria are #1 allies with Iran, who are allied with the recently uppity Russia, who are allied with China). A tinderbox we do not need!
