"The End Game" Memo
by AmBushed
Greg Palast has published a bombshell article proving what many have long suspected -- that the global financial crisis was deliberately engineered by a small cabal of bank industry bigwigs. A confidential memo -- a very, very damning memo -- was leaked to Palast. It was written in November of 1997 by Timothy Geithner.
Palast writes:
When a little birdie dropped the End Game memo through my window, its content was so explosive, so sick and plain evil, I just couldn't believe it.
The Memo confirmed every conspiracy freaks fantasy: that in the late 1990s, the top US Treasury officials secretly conspired with a small cabal of banker big-shots to rip apart financial regulation across the planet. When you see 26.3 percent unemployment in Spain, desperation and hunger in Greece, riots in Indonesia and Detroit in bankruptcy, go back to this End Game memo, the genesis of the blood and tears.
The Treasury official playing the bankers secret End Game was Larry Summers. Today, Summers is Barack Obamas leading choice for Chairman of the US Federal Reserve, the worlds central bank. If the confidential memo is authentic, then Summers shouldnt be serving on the Fed, he should be serving hard time in some dungeon reserved for the criminally insane of the finance world.
The memo is authentic.

After confirming the authenticity of the memo, Palast explored how the end game worked: By manipulating other countries via the WTO, these powerful few - who Palast calls "The Big Bank Five" - were able to alter banking regulations around the world in order to expand their shady derivatives trading. Read the article. It's quite condemning.

(10,006 posts)A bunch of these goobers thought that all these exotic investments actually made real money, just like an equity investment or a secured loan - when they are really crazy side bets on the edges of the global dice table.
Arbitrage is just an "invewstor's" word for what gamblers know as "the counting room skim".

(666 posts)Where is the outrage over this and why isn't the main street media covering it. It might be because their corporate masters will not let them, people should be marching in the streets and many of these Wall street assholes starting with Geithner should be sitting in some prison.

Fear is a powerful tool to control people with.

(15,882 posts)freedom at stake, not their job, and all they are doing is fighting to save their position on the plantation?

It's too bad, really. There are over 300 million of us, and only a few million of them. We could change it tomorrow if we would quit arguing with each other and realize who our real enemies are. Étienne de La Boétie wrote about something similar this in the 1500's. He said if you went far away and told someone that the people were supporting the tyrants, that they were willingly giving everything to them for a small dole that is returned, that they outnumbered the tyrant by millions and yet labored under their yoke, afraid, the stranger wouldnt believe you.
Perhaps we haven't evolved as much, or become as civilized, as we like to pat ourselves on the back for.

(18,998 posts)And that says a lot about them.
How many working people that go to work every day to make a living see it as a game?...But I would bet that most of them have never had to work a day in their life and there living was already made for them when they were born...so it is easy for them to see it as a game.
And it does not bother them at all that those who are not playing a game have to lose so they can win.
