Impeaching President Obama: A dream come true, for Democrats

By Robin Abcarian at the LA Times

"SNIP..............................

Toward the end of Bentivolio’s 30-minute meeting, which you can see online, a woman asks him something that is more a plea than a question: “I need to know … who is going to stop Obama from everything that he is doing against our Constitution? He needs to be stopped.”

A man’s voice interjects: "Articles of Impeachment!"

The woman continues: “It should have been started a long time ago, and I’m getting very nervous and I need to know who and when is somebody going to finally draw up something that is going to stop this runway train that we have in the White House.”

Presumably, the runaway train she is referring to is the implementation of the president’s Affordable Care Act, though it’s not entirely clear, as Bentivolio’s response also refers to the IRS admission that it flagged groups with political-sounding names that were applying for tax-exempt status.

No need to simply impeach the President. Why stop there when we can also impeach the Congress that passed ACA, and impeach the U.S. Supreme Court that upheld it. And Congress would get the double distinction of impeaching and convicting the President, and then doing the honors for themselves. Yes, let's just get rid of the entire Federal government whenever we end up as very sore losers.

These people who are leaving the Republican party aren't changing what they thought in order to make them Republicans in the first place, they're just finding Democrats to be closer to what they wanted when they formerly voted Republican.

The Democrats will be happy to oblige these former-Republican-still-conservative voters with conservative policy.

ETA: Just to make it clear, I agree with the title of your OP, the Republicans being so nuts lets the Democrats move to the right, something a lot of them want to do anyway.

Do it! Then we can keep the Senate and maybe even take back the House.

The one that the Prez taught classes on, at a prominent, conservative law school seems to be the one most of us here are somewhat familiar with.

The other one is more of a shadowy concept, modeled on the Barbadian slaveowner system and the tenents of the Christian Identity movement. I'm sure a scholar more apt than I can come up with a working cross-reference.
