Thoughts swirling in my brain with regards to the Syria possibilities....

It is a swirl, so in no particular order....

chemical weapons? something must be done

...but what is the objective?

...and who is responsible?

....who can we trust to uncover the truth of what actually happened?

....trust and the truth died with Bush (actually, before, with Viet Nam....and before that...and before that)....lies were told and no one paid (except countless innocent Iraqis)

.....among those who will profit from immediate action are advertisers on news shows, those who produce the weapons....

....oil. and money. where was immediate action when things happened in areas not of our material interests - such as Rwanda?

.....I would not want to be President Obama.

....eye for an eye never really works....

.....I am a dove - war is messy and often those who are killed are just caught in the middle of the mess....

......is it the wisdom of age, or experiences, that makes one so mistrusting and cynical/skeptical? Trust is earned....

.....war for most Americans is like a passive form of entertainment - a video game - we are desensitized, we are removed from it. We are spoiled.

and on and on and on.

Swirling, but current thinking is that it is folly to embark out of anger or revenge - especially in this particular heavy cloud where allies, enemies, truth - conflicts of interest - we need to know what the goal is. And if it is a reasonable goal.

What a mess.

In the rush to war a lot gets trampled: the truth, motivations, critical thinking...

This is the 3rd time this year that they have accused Assad of using chemical weapons. The first two came to nothing. In fact the last one they back peddled and tried to say that he used watered-down chemical weapons (?!)

They have never put forward a motive that makes sense. Assad is winning the war against the rebels so it is the rebels who have something to gain here, specifically help from the USA.

Possibly what it is wanted by the PTB is a stalemate in Syria with neither Assad nor the rebels gaining anything. We could intervene just enough to keep it going which would further weaken Syria by prolonging the civil war there. It worked in recently in Libya, and prior to that in the Iran Iraq war from 1980 to 1988. Killed about 500,000.

Everyone forgets this is the 3rd time for the accusation

I suspect it's a desire to continue the civil war

We don't want to hurt him too much.

But is that possible?

Does anyone know how fragile is his hold on his government? Do we want their military in charge?
Will it turn loose the dogs of war?

There should never be a rush to go to war. We understand that it is a decision that must be made with the heaviest deliberation.
