Mass. senators urge caution on Syria action

Mass. senators urge caution on Syria action

By Joshua Miller

Senators Edward J. Markey and Elizabeth Warren urged caution as the United States appears to be moving toward military action against the regime of Syrian leader Bashar Assad after his alleged use of chemical weapons.

<...>

Addressing reporters at the same event, Warren did not take a hard stance on whether she would support military action against Syria.

Calling what Assad has done “reprehensible” and a violation of international law, the state’s senior senator said it is important that the United States have “a plan, a goal, and we have a reasonable way for achieving that goal” before action is taken.

“I want to caution on this: It’s critically important that we remember about unintended consequences. We may have good intentions, but the consequences of our acts are not limited by those intentions,” Warren said.

I'm sure Pres Obama is taking all this into account.

You will see the Warren 2016 signs disappearing from DU.

In all honesty, I have the utmost respect for Sen. Warren. However, I do not want her to run in 2016, nor do I believe she wants to. Eventually yes, yet for now she can do a hell of a lot more damage to the GOP from her seat as Senior Senator from Mass!

Go Warren and Markey!

not attention whoring for herself .

she is nothing like those who use her to attack other Democrats. and believe me, they do mostly use her to attack other Dems, not republicans.

We worked hard to get them elected, yes even in a Blue State, we had to fight.

I had the honor of meeting Warren when she was here to campaign for Markey. She gives a mean speech.

I have every confidence that as Markey and Warren believe, this President will use caution on Syria.

Thanks ProSense!

Here's where I stand.

Why should we be the almighty decider in this conflict?

Why are we ignoring the UN isn’t that conservative behavior?

We have no business judging the Syrian government's human rights after what we did in Iraq and Vietnam.

I firmly believe our interference will not help and, based on historical evidence, will make things worse.

We cant afford to be the world's police force. What part of WE CANT AFFORD, doesn’t the Admin understand?

Where do you stand?
