I thought at first that the camels were fish, which obviously made no sense at all. Only figured it out AFTER reading the explanation below the photo.

The conditions that made that illusion only existed for a brief moment in time and they were there with a camera.
Such things are hard to stage.

If what appears to be camels were in fact camels, then the dark oval areas below them would be shadows from the sun being directly overhead.

If what appears to be camels were in fact shadows, and the white lines are the camels.. what are the dark ovals?


The two figures at the top of the picture, near the center, even appear to have necks and heads jutting out from these ovals.

Without two light sources here, one overhead and one at a near 90 degree angle to overhead, I don't see how this is possible. Unless they have camels on Tatooine.
