Here's when I will support military action in Syria, and not a moment before...

When Ban Ki-moon stands before the General Assembly at the UN and announces that he has undeniable, inescapable, incontrovertible evidence that Bashar al-Assad unleashed chemical weapons against Syrian civilians, and is ready to release said evidence to the world in advance of a Security Council vote on a resolution establishing a multi-national force whose objective is to remove al-Assad from power. I want there to be a clearly stated objective. I want there to be an end-point after which everyone goes home but UNARMED UN personnel whose purpose in staying is humanitarian in nature and nothing more.

Unilateral American military action? Show me dead Americans first. Absent that, I will always oppose the use of American military force.

All this is moot anyway. If al-Assad has even an ounce of brains in his head, he'll have posted every piece of military hardware he owns, and all his soldiers who operate it smack dab in the middle of his most densely populated areas, thereby creating human shields for it, himself, and his forces. So... all you who want military strikes, and have been fooled by all this "surgical strike" bullshit we've been fed for a generation will surely have the blood of innocents on your hands no matter how thinly this roast beef is sliced.

Pray for some Syrians.
