Go figure. I just saw a clip of McCain hemming and hawing about how serious it was for the President to give away power over the Syria. It kinda makes your head hurt when you think about it. Also Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, who never met a Bush military venture she wasn't willing to through gazillions to, was shown commiserating about war weariness and open ended military ventures.
My first thoughts were that the hypocrisy of those who helped shore up the foundations of the Bush administration Unitary Executive while robbing the people of their voice is glaring and no one calls them on it. My next thought was that I distinctly remember the President saying he was going to ratchet down the power of the presidency, which he is doing. My third thought is that we have congressmen and senators who could use a middle school level civics class really badly--they neither understand the concept of the separation of powers nor do they understand what they were put there to do.

Elections are coming up and we see how lines split on the defunding of NSA. Anyone voting for this will be in trouble and you can expect Democrats to almost bloc vote against it, so if it is to pass it will have to come with a lot of GOPers if not the vast majority of them voting for it.
And as we saw in Libya they didn't want to authorize one way or another (they had two votes, one to not authorize and not to not deauthorize, I am not making that up).

It doesn't matter what president Obama does, they'll find criticism.
