Let me be more precise. Just shut your fking piehole. Forever. You useless walking, bloodstained pile of casual death.
Lieberman said that he would urge lawmakers -- including his "amigos," Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) -- to approve an action in Syria. "I'm sure that our enemies are cheering now as a result of this decision because they realize it's not clear the president will get authority, and our allies are worried," he concluded. "That's why, again, this resolution or something like it has to pass Congress."
Let us be clear. There is no blazing, murderous maw into which Joe Lieberman would not be willing to feed someone else's child. There is no fiery death from above that he is not willing to inflict upon children in a distant land. The man could care less about the dead. He'd feed on them himself, if he could.
Fk him with a Hellfire.
Now that my throat's clear, let's start the day.

(20,818 posts)and generally right on the mark, and it was especially good to see that those of his former constituents who posted slammed him. It's good to see that the vast majority can see right through this hateful tool. I just wish CT had done the right thing and told him to go the fuck away back in '06 instead of voting him in as a "Joe, party of one" "independent."
His arrogance in not accepting his primary loss that year, and insisting on running anyway as his own party because, ya know, CT and the nation and, well, hell, the entire world, should not be deprived of his greatness and the little people just didn't know what they were doing when they voted him out in the primary, was simply unbelievable, even for him.

Good riddance and so sorry for the poor folks in CT who were duped.

(55,445 posts)go digging in the DU archives and see how many big-name DUers of the time were unashamedly kneecapping Ned Lamont's race in '06 while carrying water for "Joementum"
(fun fact: a few of those DUers are still around today)

(28,347 posts)long before (and after) there was a Lamont.
There's always people with differing opinions. As a Liberal, it's hard to understand how other Liberals could support a war hawk and opportunist like Lieberman.
But, the majority of DUers were pro-Lamont who donated to and worked for his campaign.

"As far as I'm concerned (Barack Obama) is a 'Baruch,' which means a blessing. He is a blessing to the United States Senate, to America, and to our shared hopes for better, safer tomorrows for all our families. The gifts that God has given to Barack Obama are as enormous as his future is unlimited. As his mentor, as his colleague, as his friend, I look forward to helping him reach to the stars and realize not just the dreams he has for himself, but the dreams we all have for him and our blessed country."

(10,168 posts)on DU about someone I can't stand other than Lieberman. The gist of the comments about my post was that we did not want to lower the tone of discussion on DU to a level such as this.
I called someone in the news a "vile shitass," a term that was popular among kids in the 50's and 60's that meant essentially that someone was childlike or a baby (shitting his pants). It wasn't a Democrat, or a well liked Independant. I agree I should not revert to name calling in place of intelligent discussion but it happens. What is mind-boggling to me is how selective this site can be.

(17,600 posts)Pierce gets away with it (mostly), because he is just so damn eloquent in how he says it.
When you can write like Pierce does, and do it on another site, it will probably be linked to and quoted here and not be hidden.
But if Pierce has a userid here and wrote exactly the same thing, he'd be taking his chances like all of us.
Except that there seems to be a Lieberman exception too. So it would probably be fine.

(812 posts)Seems Lieberman is stroking a Saudi Murderboner.
Wonder if this is analogous to Dubyuh playing Kissyface with Prince Abdullah(all puns intended though not achieved).
For years Lieberman led a fatwa against video games even to proposing a constitutional ban.
Later when the Games industry outgrew Movies then he softened his stance.
He is finally gone from office after de-railing Al Gore's 2000 presidential and Energy Policy aspirations.
So what interest does he have for urging the war hawks to action against a country which has done nothing to us?
Humanitarian murder,that is the ticket!
Is this another Gulf War,to appease OPEC and the Domestic Producers?
Given the clues, sounds logical to me.

Is there any reason to think things have changed since then?
