"Sorry," Zimmerman told the officer who was wearing a body camera. The video was posted on Orlando NBC-affiliate WESH-TV.
Zimmerman was stopped and ticketed on Tuesday in the town of Lake Mary for driving 60 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone, Lake Mary police officer Zach Hudson said. The ticket carried a $256 fine and three violation points against his driver's license.
In Florida, 12 points results in a license suspension, and any number of points can affect auto insurance rates.
Hudson said Zimmerman's behavior toward the officer was "very appropriate." He said Zimmerman can pay the fine, contest the ticket, or attend a driver improvement class which can void the points, lower his fine and block an insurance rate hike.

(14,881 posts)I live in a 45 mph zone, zoned residential/agricultural. Cars and trucks flying down our street have killed deer, moose, dogs and people. Also my mail box. I've was nearly run down so often just trying to pick up my mail, I got a PO box.

(14,881 posts)they all should be ticketed and fined heavily, including your wife. These are residential neighborhoods. Speeders make the roads dangerous, nosiy and stressful for those of us forced to live with such irresponsible, self-centered and inconsiderate people racing through.

(5,611 posts)I agree with you. Another poster suggested that 60mph in a 45mph zone is not "reckless." Given that it was a 45mph zone, NOT a freeway, it is indeed reckless and definitely dangerous. Driving 15mph or more over the speed limit is no joke -- this is precisely what causes so many accidents. I think given that Zimm was very recently warned about speeding (the incident in which he asked the cop if he knew who Zimmerman was) the fact that he got a ticket suggests that he has serious impulsivity issues (as if we didn't suspect this all along...).

(488 posts)Cause if so, well done!
But if not, is this an implication that those who get a speeding ticket are likely to shoot people?

It's time for another beating.
I get pulled over by the cops in Texas all of the time when I drive through, and like Zimmerman, I have Florida plates. I've lost track of how many times I've seen those flashing light behind me. I get pull over especially on western I-10. I think they are looking for drug money. I thought it was business as usual when Zimmerman got pulled over in Texas.
I've lived in central Florida for seventeen years and I have never been pulled over in Florida. Zimmerman's got me there.

(20,277 posts)Yes, we know you are a famous murderer. It's only a matter of time. He will get himself into some jail time type trouble.
Sounds like his wife is finally done with him.
