I just had an unpleasant experience at the recall election.

This is the Colorado special election to recall State Senator John Morse.

First of all, I felt like it was an imposition on my free time to have to go and vote for him again, just because the gun nuts did not like the way he legislates. Then as we are driving to the polling place - there were no mail-in ballots for this election - they are having some type of "event" and the street was blocked. We had to go around the street and come in the back way. On top of that, it is about 90 degrees out there today.

So we get a parking place and put money in the meters and walk over to the county building to vote. There are protesters out front and some people with interview cameras as we walk by. One guy is banging on the parking meter as another passed by yelling out of his car to "recall Morse!"

I was not in a good mood.

My wife and I get to the door and they want to see our form to vote we got thru the mail and wanted to know if the address was correct and if we had a valid ID? I made some comment that this seemed a little much for someone who has been a citizen for 66 years and served two tours in Vietnam.

So after a short stand in the line, we get to election official and he wants to know my address and my birthdate? I asked him if he had had any "illegal aliens" vote today? He mumbled that no, he hadn't. I said, "I bet you want get any either?"

I felt very resentful about the whole matter.

Finally, I checked the one box that asked if there should be a recall election? A big X thru the NO square and I was ready to drop my ballot in the box.

One of the county workers was not happy that she had to be there today either.

I think if it had taken 5 more minutes, I would probably have been arrested. I would not be surprised if something happens before the day is over?

Colorado progressives have done a wonderful job over the last 10 years. Sorry you have to deal with a shrinking loud minority throwing a temper tantrum in your great state.

Thanks for toughing it out today.

It was some sort of "Imagination Fair" and people were very friendly. It just seemed like an unusual place to have it today? I bought a "Hemp I Scream" bar, made with natural ingredients, including hemp flour and hemp seeds. It was pretty good!
