Our country is truly Progressive!

If people want to call me an EmoProg they can. I don't hide that I have empathy for others, so I gladly take the title of EmoProg. With that out of the way look at how our progressive country is yearning for no more war. Look at how popular wage increases is with the American public across the political spectrum. The desire for green energy is sky high with the American populace. Improvement of our health care system is definitely agreed upon by the majority, but still needs more convincing for some that universal healthcare isn't the evil as it is portrayed by the extreme right wing. If you look at our country in 2013 as a whole, we are progressive not only on social issues like Marijuana and gay marriage, but also on economic/geopolitical issues. We Americans are not less progressive than Europeans when it comes to our views, and in fact we are more open towards races/ethnic cultures and LGBT community than many European countries! The difference is our reps in the DC bubble cling to the old notions of the 20th century when it comes to social issues like the failed Drug War or old Cold War tensions that is followed with proxy wars and arms races (that is what Syria is in a nutshell).

Europeans are at least represented by reps that understand the realities of the 21st century on the other hand. We as a nation are not there yet, but we all can sense we are tipping towards that no? We all thought 2008 was that turning point, but it is not so. Still, the cracks in that old establishment in that DC bubble are showing. The more the U.S. public rejects the narrative the DC bubble tries to peddle with vehement anger the more the U.S. public rejects. This situation is like a pool of water where a gentle, steady clasp will yield a great amount of water in your hand. A hasty, aggressive clasp of that same pool of water will ensure you have none!

The more aggressive the DC bubble tries to push our progressive country the more pushback there will be. That is an equilibrium that eludes the DC elite and why the more they push the more irrational they start to look.

We are a progressive country, not regressive or over aggressive in our endeavors. We want calm, steady and rational thought behind green energy independence and health care reform. The ACA is a step in the right direction but it is too conservative and yet the current administration is very coy about their pinnacle achievement which is to be rolled out soon enough. So much energy is being put into other endeavors and it boggles the mind about priorities. Geopolitics do matter, but economic matters at home matter more. The Soviet Union collapsed because it was more focused on geopolitics and not about the people of the Soviet Union and the different ethnic and cultures under that umbrella. Lets not fall into the same trap and ask for something greater.
