It appears that Talk Radio Network and Americas Radio News Network may have ceased operations.
A number of staffers have posted comments that they were let go on Friday without notice.
... Rumors about the demise of TRN began popping up on Friday following a report at Talkers.com. Mark Masters, CEO of Talk Radio Network, claimed there were many inaccuracies in that report, but that a full statement would not be released until Monday. TRN programming includes Andrea Tantaros, Jerry Doyle, Rusty Humphries, Mancow, and Monica Crowley. They also own the Americas Radio News Network that produces long-form news blocks for stations.
... TRN has seen a rash of high profile talent departures recently. Michael Savage departed for Cumulus last year after winning a lawsuit against the company. Laura Ingraham left for Courtside Entertainment.

(69 posts)but he was on the am-radio here in norfolk, va and I heard what an asshole he is in real life.
Didn't ruin B5 for me though, they were all actors and what they said/did in real life had nothing to do with their roles, liked Garibaldi, I would throw Doyle a lead-filled life jacket if he were drowning.

(32,020 posts)And they were in charge of this "America's Radio News Network" in collaboration with The Washington Times. Thom Hartmann recently was on ARNN discussing the NSA, and Dennis Kucinich too interviewed about Syria. But most of the guest analysts on ARNN were Republicans/conservatives.
And Savage in 2010 sued TRN accusing his contract of being "indentured servitude".
Things have gotten really out of hand. First, Rusty Humphries's Sept. 10 show got cut off 5 minutes in because Humphries started dissing TRN management. And allegedly, all the TRN employees in DC have no severance while the Oregon employees got severance; one employee who has breast cancer risks losing her insurance!
TRN (website TRN1.com) also has non political shows, such as Science Fantastic with Michio Kaku. Comedian Louie Anderson also had a show with TRN. Scientist Bill Wattenburg, who used to do Sunday nights on San Francisco's 50 kW blowtorch KGO, recently got a new show on TRN after KGO laid him off. Wattenburg talks politics with some scientific insight (albeit from a right wing POV).
Wow, along with the possible departure of Rush Limbaugh from Cumulus, I wonder WHEN is the ultimate move that indicates the right wing talk radio bubble has burst?
