I was very surprised to find an article with that title headlining at De Morgen, one of a handful of mainstream papers (and the most progressive, at that). They have been reprinting mainly the US government line with regards to Syria so far.
"An attack with chemical weapons in Syria is crossing the red line for US president Obama and a justification for military intervention based on crimes against humanity. But look what the US an/or its allies have done themselves on the other side of that red line:
US use of Agent Orange in Vietnam
Bombing with white phosporous in Gaza, 2008-2009, by Israel
The battle for Fallujah, using white phosphorus
The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, using depleted uranium
The Dresden firestorm in WWII
The atomic bombs on Hiroshima & Nagasaki"
I'm well aware that this isn't new to DUers - but to see this front and center over here is a first (in the mainstream media).
Are we waking up?

(5,069 posts)and mines should also be on that list. Children in Laos and Cambodia are still suffering from some of our mines - likewise children are the most likely victims of cluster munitions from weapons left behind in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc.

Thanks for the thread, BelgianMadCow.
